Issue:
How do I add Axis cameras to the Central Point NVR?
Prerequisite:
- Axis camera with the latest version of firmware loaded on it.
- Laptop to configure the Axis camera.
- Central Point Recorder.
Resolution:
In order to get the Axis camera to operate correctly, you will need to configure the Axis camera. You will need to:

Plug the camera into a POE port on the back of the NVR

If the Axis camera is new out of the box, do the initial setup

Create an Onvif User

Create a 2nd Onvif stream at a resolution of 640x480

Create the same Onvif user in the User Settings
- Plug the camera into the back of the recorder into one of the POE ports in the back.
- Plug your laptop into the back of the recorder into one of the POE ports in the back.
- Run the Axis Search Software to find the camera.
- Open a web browser and navigate to the web interface of the camera.
- If this is the first time you are logging onto the camera please go through the setup steps.
- Make sure you leave the network settings at DHCP and the NTP is set to DHCP.
- When the initial setup is finished click Settings at the bottom right of the window.
- Click on System>ONVIF.
- Click the "+" below ONVIF users.
- Enter a Username, New Password, and Repeat Password.
- Click Save.
- Click the "+" below ONVIF media profiles.
- Give the new profile a name.
- Click on the arrow to the right of Video Source and select "user0" in the Select a configuration field.
- Scroll down and click the arrow to the right of Video encoder and select "default_2 h.264" for the Select a configuration field.
- Scroll down and change the Resolution to 640x480.
- Click Save.
- Click on the Users.
- Click the "+" under Users.
- Enter the same ONVIF username and password as you did in step 10.
- Click Save.
- At the NVR, Right Click on any box and select Camera Registration. (If you do not see that, you will need to log in first.)
- The recorder should find the camera. Click on the camera.
- Enter the ONVIF Username and password (step 10) to the right and click check.
- Go to the camera in the table and click on the Assign Column and assign the camera to a Channel.
- Click Save and then the "x" at the top right.
The camera should be displaying in multi-screen and full-screen views.
