Issue
The customer needs to export video for an investigation. The video can be exported to a CD/DVD or to a USB flash drive. If using the CD/DVD burner to export the video, it is recommended to use either a CD-R or a DVD-R disc. Anything labeled "-RW" will need to be formatted before it can be used.
Pre-requisite
Have a USB flash inserted or CD/DVD in the burner.
Locate the time and dates you need in Search Mode. Make a note of them to place in the Clip-Copy screen.
Resolution
To export video, use the search feature to locate the time frame you need to export. Make note of the start and end times and the date.
- Locate the Save-As Video icon on the bottom of the Search Screen. Click it and select Export Clip File. This will open up the Clip-Copy page.
- Below is an example of the Clip Player Save Dialog screen.
- Select the cameras you wish to export.
- Enable Text-in (Optional)
- Password protect the Clip Player (Optional).
- Write to CD/DVD (Optional). If this is enabled a filename must be provided. If you do not change it the file will be the current date.
- Next to Save Path, click the icon with 3 dots. Click here to add the file name you wish or keep the one that the Clip-Copy generated as today's date.
- Press the Calc. Size button. This will provide an estimate of the size of the clip. Click OK when the calculation is done. Click Start to begin the export. You will see the progress bar as shown below.
- Once the export is finished remove the USB flash drive or the CD/DVD. The export is now ready for viewing.
