Costar XDH series: How to Add an IP Camera to Record on Motion

issue:

You have just added an IP camera to the XDH series of recorders and want the camera to record on motion.  

Prerequisites:

• Make sure the Time and Date is correct in the camera and the recorder. 
• Enable Motion Events on the Cameras Web Interface. 
• Set the resolution and the IPS for each stream.
• The IP cams MUST be registered to the XDH. 

Resolution: 

The recorder will now record the newly installed IP camera on Motion.  

1. Navigate to Setup>Record>Schedule and make sure the Mode is set to Event and that the IP camera is in the Channels for the schedule entry.
2. Click Save
3. Navigate to Event and then Network. 
4. Locate the IP camera and click on the "+" to the left to expand the camera event options. 
5. Locate Motion and turn Use On.  Make sure Event Off is set to Not Using.
6. Click on the Action column that corresponds with the motion event. Locate Record and select the channel number of the camera that you are setting up.  Click OK
7. Click Save at the bottom

Test the camera and make sure the XDH is receiving the events.  If you run into any issues please contact Costar Support.
