Issue:
Initial registration of the Axis camera to the XDI. Both the multi-camera view and single-camera view need to be visible on the XDI. The IPS/FPS needs to be set up for retention purposes as well.
Pre-Requisite:
- The XDI Camera Network is set to Manual with the IP address written down.
- Axis camera with firmware 9.40.1.
- Laptop with a web browser.
- Logged on via web browser, and the initial setup of the Axis camera done.
Resolution:
Setup 2 streams in the Axis camera via the web browser. One stream should be at a lower resolution for multi-camera viewing on the XDI, and the other stream at the highest resolution for viewing. Set both streams IPS/FPS.
- Click Settings on the bottom right corner.
- Click Stream.
- Set the following:
- Resolution- 1920x1080 (16:9).
- Frame rate- 5.
- Compression- 75.
- P-frames- 10.
- h.264 profile- High.
- Click Stream Profiles.
- Click Create new at the top right of the window.
- Name the profile XDIStream2.
- Click General to expand it. Check all boxes and enter the following:
- Resolution- 640x480 (4:3).
- Frames Rate- 5.
- Compression- 75.
- Scroll down and click Encoding to expand it. Check all boxes and enter the following:
- GOP length- 10
- Compression profile- High
- Bitrate Control- Variable bitrate
- Click Create at the bottom.
NOTE: When adding this camera to the XDI series recorder, please use the Axis protocol and do an IP Address search. If you do Auto Scan LAN, it will find the camera by its Zero Config IP address(169.254.x.x), and motion will not work.
