Issue:
Need to register an Axis camera to the XDI recorder.
Pre-Requisite:
- Axis camera with firmware 9.40.1.
- Axis camera that is on the same logical network as the camera side of the recorder.
- Axis camera set up exactly how you want it. All events turned on that you want and the streams.
- XDI powered on with a monitor connected to it.
- Initial setup of the XDI done.
Resolution:
Add the Axis cameras to the XDI.
NOTE: When adding this camera to the XDI series recorder, please use the Axis protocol and do an IP Address search. If you do Auto Scan LAN, it will find the camera by its Zero Config IP address(169.254.x.x), and motion will not work.
- Right-click the cell containing the camera and select Camera Registration.
- Click Scan and select Third Party Scan.
- Click Advanced Setup change the Type to Manua then click OK.
NOTE: The default address for the camera network is 10.10.254.254. - Back at the Scan window, change the Protocol to Axis. Change the Mode to IP Address Scan and enter the IP address of the camera in the IP address field and click Scan at the bottom.
- When the XDI recorder locates your cameras, they will appear in the list on the left. Once the XDI finds the cameras click Close.
- Right-click your new camera(s) in the list, and click Add Camera.
- Enter the User name and Password for the camera then click OK. The XDI recorder uses these credentials to authenticate with the camera.
- Click Apply and then OK and then OK. Wait for the Diagnosis to Process. The recorder returns you to the live view. Your new camera should appear in the matrix.
NOTE: Verify that your cameras are recording. Recording is indicated by a red dot in the top right of the camera images. If you see a yellow running person on a live camera image, go to Event > Video Analytics and enable motion recording on for that camera.
