How to view data on a hard drive that is not connected to a recorder?

Answer:

You will need to procure a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE adapter to connect the removed Hard Drive to the computer running StarNet.  The Hard Drive in newer units is SATA and the older Analog units used IDE Hard Drives so get the correct adapter for your particular Hard Drive.

StarNet has a built-in program that allows the viewing of stored data on a Hard Drive from a Costar Recorder.  Once the Hard Drive and adapter are added to the computer that StarNet is running on you can now refresh the HDP selection and the Hard drive should show up.

Drag the Hard drive over to a Play Tab and now you can search for video on that Hard Drive.
