FAQ: Directnet 2.0 Camera on the Central Point Recorder or Any 3rd Party Recorder.

Issue:

I have a Directnet 2.0 camera that I need to register to a Central Point Recorder or a 3rd party recorder. 

Pre-Requisite

• Laptop with INIT 4.4.1 or greater loaded
• Network Cable for laptop
• Central Point Recorder or 3rd party recorder
• A Directnet 2.0 camera

Resolution:

The Directnet 2.0 cameras need their password initialized if they are going onto a recorder that is not a Directnet recorder.  Also, the secondary stream of the camera needs to be adjusted for correct viewing. 

1. Plug your laptop into one of the POE ports on the back of the recorder.
2. Run the INIT software.
3. The INIT software will find the camera. 
4. Right Click on the camera and click Remote Setup.
   
5. The Password Initialization box will open.  Please enter a strong password and click the not use box. 
   
6. Click OK at the bottom.
7. Internet Explorer will open to the remote setup of the camera.  Click on Video>Streaming.
   
8. Change the Resolution for the Secondary to 640x360.
   
9. Scroll down and click Save.
