1. Plug the camera into one of the POE ports on the back of the recorder.
2. Connect the laptop to the camera side of the recorder (POE Port). Make sure the laptop is in the same logical network as the camera. By default, the camera side network IP Address is set to 192.168.30.1
3. The Recorder will set the IP address of the cameras from the built in DHCP server. Please make sure you do not leave the cameras on DHCP.
4. Run the Costar Utility to set passwords in the cameras
5. Once you have found the cameras (Hold Down Ctrl) Click on the Cameras and Then Click Set Password->Input password
6. Please enter a Unique password (Password requirements: Max 16 characters and cannot use these special characters: # % & ' " < > / [ ] { } _ ( ) = . + , and space)
7. Highlight Multiple cameras once they are highlighted select camera management and Date and time. This will set the date and time to the same time and time zone as the PC.
7a. Right-click again on the cameras and select Network Setup. Change the IP configuration to Static IP Address.
8. Open Internet Explorer. Type in the IP Address of the recorder and select Setup.
9. Enter in the user ID and password of the recorder
10. Go to Camera-> IP Camera Registration
11. Click add->
12. Click Search
13. Find your camera to add-> click Registration
14. Put in the username and password you set up earlier, then click ok
15. Continue with each camera.
