FAQ: How to add a camera to the CMIPVM and CMIPVM20.

The CMIPVM and CMIPVM20 is our Public View Monitor/Spot Monitor solution for the XDI/Directnet recorder.  

1. Plug the CMIPVM into a POE port on the back of the recorder or into a POE switch that is connected to the Video IN Ext port.  
2. Connect an HDMI monitor and USB mouse to the CMIVM.
3. When the CMIPVM boots up. Move the mouse cursor to the right and select Setup.
   
4. A login box will populate.  Login with the default credentials of admin:no password and click OK.
   
5. Click OK to get by the password warning.
   
6. Select Camera.
   
7. Click Scan at the bottom right corner of the table. 
   
8. Click Scan again.
   
9. The CMIPVM will start looking for the recorder.  Once it finds the recorder you are looking for click Stop. 
   
10. Click the box to the right of the recorder and then click Device Register.
    
11. Enter the Credentials of the recorder.
    
12. Once the recorder is registered to the CMIPVM a new window will open.  Select all the cameras you would like to display on the CMIPVM and then click OK. 
    
13. When the camera window closes, the Device Scan window will appear.  Click Close at the bottom.
    
14. Click OK in the Camera menu.
    
15. Click anywhere that is not on an icon to get back to the live view.
    

The CMIPVM should now be displaying the cameras you selected for viewing.
