Issue:
Making an AVI file from the Starnet software and the audio file is empty. When making a clip-copy the audio works.
Solution:
This typically happens with third-party cameras using audio. Make sure in the Audio Codec is set to G.711 u-Law.
If you are at Starnet you can check the Audio Codec by
- Right-clicking on the recorder in the remote sites list on the left and select Remote Setup.
- Select Camera>Audio and the channel you would like to configure. The audio channel is typically the same as the camera channel number. Here is where you can change the Audio Codec.
Make sure you save everything when done. If you still are having issues please feel free to reach out to Costar Support.
