Issue
Live video being displayed at the client station is choppy, objects have jerky movement.
The live video stream at the client PC is 1IPS.
Solution
Raise the bitrate or change to 'ips' mode for Remote Watch and adjust to desired images per second.
- On the DVR or connected remotely access Setup
- Navigate to Setup > Network > General.
- The default bitrate is 7 Mbps, depending on camera count this can result in an overall frame rate of 1ips per camera.
Adjust to a higher bitrate or change from bps to ips.
Once changed to ips you can then specify the images per second desired for smoother movement.
Verify the Network Bandwidth Limit has not been set to a low value. - To verify the client PC is now streaming at the configured Remote Watch ips settings, select the camera in the live display and then press the TAB key on the keyboard. You can also right-click and select Stream Information.
Example:
Note: If you still see 1ips make sure you saved the settings on the DVR. Also may need to close and re-launch the client application.
